MY PRACTICE
Hi! My name is Dr. Tyler Krohn but many of my little patients call me Dr. Tyler. I am a board-certified pediatrician caring for the families on the Westside of Los Angeles, California, particularly Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Brentwood, Santa Monica, and Venice.
I am accepting new patients and I would love to have you join me and would be honored to care for your family. My office is located in Pacific Palisades and you can find the phone number, address, and directions under the “My Office” link at the top of this page. For newborn and any necessary inpatient care, I have privileges at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.
MY BACKGROUND
After graduating magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a focus on biomedical science and health care studies, I moved to Los Angeles to begin medical school. I received my Medical Doctorate from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. I then began my career in pediatrics doing my internship and residency training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which has been ranked as one of the top 10 children’s hospitals in the United States and the best children’s hospital on the West Coast (Source: US News & World Report). While there I not only received the best general pediatrics training in the world but I also spent time in the leadership of the American Academy of Pediatrics and conducted research in the area of cystic fibrosis, which I had the pleasure of presenting at the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference.
After my tenure at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, I joined UCLA-Santa Monica Pediatrics where I began to build my pediatrics practice and where I served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. In August 2011, after one year at UCLA, I decided to open my own private pediatrics practice on the Westside of Los Angeles and I currently have a small practice located in the neighborhood of Pacific Palisades. In addition to my own private practice, I serve the community by working part-time as a pediatric emergency medicine physician in the emergency room at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance and in the urgent care clinic at Cedars-Sinai in Beverly Hills.
MY PHILOSOPHY
“An advocate for children and a partner for parents!”
Like most physicians, I became a doctor to help people and I became a pediatrician to help parents in the care of their children. Of course there are many professions based on helping people but there is a unique bond of trust and intimacy between a doctor and a patient that you don't find in any other profession. It is an incredible honor to serve as an expert, advisor, and confidant to my patients and their parents in their times of greatest joys and greatest sorrows.
Raising children should be one of the most fun and most amazing things a parent will ever do. Nobody knows a child better or cares for them more than their parents. I believe my role as a pediatrician is to help children thrive by advocating for their needs and to help parents care for their children by partnering with them as an expert in pediatric health and wellbeing. My desire is to empower my patients and their parents with the knowledge and tools they need to live healthy, successful lives.
MY FAMILY
During medical school I met and married my beautiful and amazing wife Kendall Payne Krohn. She is a native of the Westside of Los Angeles having been born at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and having grown up in Malibu. She is an artist at heart and developed her career as a celebrated, award-winning singer/ songwriter and recording artist under the name Kendall Payne. We attend Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades and we live in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California with our daughter Elliot and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Henry and Jack.
